I founded Hanabié Japanese Garden Design to serve clients who wish to be "living with Japanese gardens". While living in rural Fukushima, Japan, I was fascinated by the role nature played in the culture there, how it informs the language, poetry and general perspective on life. This reverence for nature is echoed in the well-known tradition of haiku poetry, which celebrates even the smallest changes in seasons.
